How did Mindset Health Hub get started?

I started in private practice in 2021, by taking on clients 1 day a week within a small existing practice, Line of Symmetry at Underwood. Slowly learning the ropes and gaining referrals, while transitioning out of a large company where I was a team leader for 5 clinicians servicing NDIS clients. This role was challenging where I was required to keep a caseload of over 60 clients and travel between client’s homes up to an hour away. This lead to burn out, stress on my body, and clients not getting the attention they deserved.

I needed the freedom of setting my own schedule – never working before 10am and always having a lunch break! I wanted to be able to separate work from home by having my own office and reducing travel time. It is a privilege to work for myself and I appreciate many people may not have the opportunity to have the flexibility of working for themselves. Now I set my own schedule and work with clients who seek me out, I am feeling more fulfilled and satisfied to support a select number of clients.

I established Mindset Health Hub and opened the office in Beenleigh alongside Emily from Farren Psychology in 2023. We are loving the large rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows. It was a breath of fresh air!

The name??

Personally, naming a business and posting on social media are totally cringe and awkward to me. I wanted to keep the name open, not narrowing who would feel comfortable seeking our services, as well as non-prescriptive – I don’t believe everyone seeking a psychologist is looking for the same outcome.

For me I thought Mind-Set-Health “to have your mind set toward health”, healthy in mind, body and spirit.
